United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice.  Nationwide, members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

Our local members of UMW provide support for numerous projects throughout the year, including support for:

  • The Wesley Foundation, which assists in outreach to college students
  • Cookson Hills, which offers help, hope, and healing to abused and neglected children and works with their families to break the cycle of abuse and neglect    www.cooksonhills.org
  • The Okmulgee VIM Mexico Mission Team (see the photos section of this website)
  • UMW Mission fund
  • Circle of Care, which offers a continuum of Christ-centered services to children and families  www.circleofcare.org
  • Okmulgee Safehouse
  • Backpack Buddies, which provides nutritious snacks for local in-need children
  • Local mission outreach projects including Open Gate
  • Spiritual growth retreats

In addition, they provide bereavement dinners, memory gifts in honor of members who have passed away, and District Conference gift cards to individuals in need.
